Vacancy: Safeguarding Lead Coordinator, Rhondda Cynon Taf CBC Adult Safeguarding Team (Full‑Time Permanent Post: Grade 13) Location: Pontypridd Police Station Hours: 37 hours per week Salary: GR13 – £49,282 per annum

A rare opportunity for an Adult Safeguarding Lead Co‑ordinator to work in the Cwm Taf Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Rhondda Cynon Taf. The post is based in the MASH Team, working Monday‑Friday in a hybrid model within a well‑established and supported team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver the specialist Adult Safeguarding service for Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council Adult Services and its ongoing development.
  • Respond to adult safeguarding reports and manage Section 126 enquiries.
  • Lead safeguarding investigations, case conferences and strategy meetings in line with the Social Service and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 and the Wales Safeguarding Procedures.
  • Deliver best practice safeguarding outcomes and support the multi‑agency MASH team.
  • Ensure safeguarding duties are carried out in accordance with statutory guidance and policy.

Qualifications

  • Professional Social Work qualification (e.g. Degree in Social Work or recognised predecessor equivalent), or equivalent nursing, occupational therapy or police officer qualification.
  • Substantial experience working with adults at risk and safeguarding their interests.
  • Enhanced DBS check, appropriate references and South Wales Police vetting.
  • Strong communication, organisational and multi‑agency working skills.
