We are seeking motivated and reliable individuals to join our Waste Services team as Collections Operatives based at Ty Glantaf (Treforest), Ty Amgen (Llwydcoed) and Dinas Depot (Porth).
Working as part of a collection crew, the successful candidates will assist in the delivery of waste and recycling collection services across Rhondda Cynon Taf, helping to ensure residents and businesses receive an efficient and high-quality service.
This is a physically demanding role that requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times.
Your responsibilities will include
- Collecting refuse, recycling, food waste and other waste streams from domestic and commercial premises.
- Working safely and effectively as part of a collection crew.
- Assisting drivers with vehicle manoeuvring and safe operation.
- Providing excellent customer service when interacting with residents and businesses.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with Council policies and procedures.
- Reporting any issues, incidents or health and safety concerns to supervisors.
You Should
- Be reliable, punctual and committed to delivering excellent service.
- Be capable of undertaking manual handling and physically demanding duties.
- Work effectively as part of a team.
- Have a positive attitude towards health and safety.
Previous experience in waste collection or a similar operational environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
You Will Be Required To Work
- 37 hours per week - Monday to Friday - 7:00am to 3:00pm
- Bank holidays, including Christmas and New Year, subject to service requirements
Waste Services plays a vital role in keeping our communities clean and supporting the Council's environmental objectives. This is an opportunity to become part of a dedicated team delivering an essential frontline service to residents across the county borough.
