An exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist is available within the Housing team to deliver comprehensive, person‑centred occupational therapy services to promote independence, wellbeing, and inclusion for applicants and their households seeking rehousing across Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Homefinder service and Common Housing Register partners to assess adaptation needs of applicants seeking rehousing.
  • Assess suitability of properties offered, determining if the property will meet the needs of the applicant and their household and making recommendations for minor adaptations if required.
  • Make recommendations regarding suitability of new build properties at the planning/development stage of the build.
  • Manage a defined caseload, working flexibly and collaboratively with individuals and partner agencies.
  • Use specialist assessment, evidence‑based interventions, and robust risk management processes.

Safeguarding and Disclosure

Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a core responsibility of all staff appointed to the Council. Adhering to an enhanced disclosure and barring service check as required.
