Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is seeking an exceptional leader to shape the future of Education and Inclusion Services across our community. As Director of Education and Inclusion Services, you will hold strategic responsibility for 111 schools and a large workforce, ensuring every child and young person in RCT receives the highest standard of education and the support they need to thrive.
This is a rare opportunity at the heart of the Council’s Senior Leadership Team, offering you the chance to:
- Set and deliver the vision for education and inclusion services across RCT
- Inspire and lead a diverse workforce of school staff, education professionals and service managers
- Shape policy and strategy in line with Welsh Government priorities and local needs
- Collaborate with headteachers, partners and elected members to continuously improve educational outcomes
We are looking for an experienced and visionary education leader who can:
- Demonstrate strong strategic and operational leadership
- Build effective partnerships across schools, local government, and national agencies
- Champion inclusion, equity, and wellbeing for all learners
- Bring innovation, resilience, and a passion for improving life chances for children and young people
- Have strong professional credentials, deep knowledge of the legislative and political landscape, and extensive experience delivering major services at a strategic level; proven track record in leading complex organisational change, managing significant budgets, working effectively with elected Members, shaping corporate strategy, and fostering positive employment relations.
Pay Range: This range is provided by Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
