The Learning Disabilities Daytime Opportunities Service is seeking to recruit self‑motivated, enthusiastic team members to work across the East and West areas of Rhondda Cynon Taf on a casual basis. You will cover staff absences across either the East or West areas of Rhondda Cynon Taf. The service has a number of centres/projects that provide care, support, and meaningful daytime opportunities to individuals with learning disabilities, including autism and complex health needs. Provision meets a wide range of needs from personal care to engaging people in structured activities both in groups and on a one‑to‑one basis. Active participation and the involvement of the individual with a learning disability are central to all delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide care and support in a respectful manner to people with a learning disability.
- Support people to access a range of community‑based opportunities.
- Use ICT resources effectively and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with individuals receiving the service and with health and social care professionals.
- Travel independently to workplace settings throughout the RCT area.
- Participate in induction, ongoing training, and supervision to meet expected standards in a person‑centred, outcome‑focused manner.
Safeguarding
Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a core responsibility of all staff appointed to the Council. In addition to this safeguarding responsibility, the successful applicant for this role will also be subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.
