An exciting opportunity within Flying Start for one experienced and passionate individual to work within a unique and forward-thinking team which includes a range of professionals and fields.

The post holder will be required to provide direct and hands-on support to Flying Start approved settings in response to the increasing level of emerging needs within early years, and aid practitioners' contributions to a graduated response for individuals where appropriate. The post holder will provide practical support to early years practitioners in line with multi-agency professional advice with the primary goal of improving the quality of universal provision.

The post holder will be expected to role model, support implementation of strategies, support the delivery of training packages and have an integral role in maintaining communication and relationships between early years practitioners and the Flying Start childcare workforce.

Protecting children and vulnerable adults is a core responsibility of all staff appointed to the Council. In addition to this safeguarding responsibility, the successful applicant for this role will also be subject to an enhanced disclosure and barring service check.

Responsibilities:

  • The post holder will provide direct and hands-on support to Flying Start approved settings and respond to emerging needs within early years.
  • They will aid practitioners’ contributions to a graduated response for individuals where appropriate.
  • Provide practical support in line with multi-agency advice.
  • Role model and support the implementation of strategies.
  • Help deliver training packages.
  • Maintain communication and relationships between early years practitioners and the Flying Start childcare workforce.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS check is required.
  • The post is grant funded until 31 March 2028.
  • The role involves safeguarding responsibilities and compliance with statutory requirements.
