We have an exciting opportunity to join the RCT Fleet Services team as a Chargehand Technician. Based at our workshop in Treforest Industrial Estate, we are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, hardworking and experienced chargehand to work on our diverse fleet of vehicles from small vans to Refuse Collection Vehicles.
Reporting to the Principal Fleet Workshop Officer, the successful candidate will be expected to supervise a team of Vehicle Technicians and Workshop Driver Operatives in their daily tasks. You will also be expected to undertake all inspections and repairs to current DVSA regulations, plus carrying out final chargehand checks for vehicles prepped for MOT. You will perform a key role within RCT to keep our vehicles on the move.
This is a 37‑hour‑a‑week post and covers an afternoon shift working pattern, including an on‑call rota for which you will receive a pay enhancement, which currently operates as follows: 13:30 to 21:30 Monday to Thursday / 11:30 to 19:00 Friday.

You will be based within the Fleet Services section of the Frontline Services Division at TÅ· Glantaf, Unit B23, Taffs Fall Rd, Treforest Industrial Estate, Pontypridd. This post is GR10 with a Market Supplement to help us attract the right candidate.
