Location: Parc Lewis Primary School, Pontypridd, CF37 1BE

Hours: Part time (20 hours per week), Term time only

Grade 3 ÂŁ13.05 per hour

About The Role

Catering Services are looking for a self–motivated and enthusiastic individual to undertake the role of Assistant Cook at Parc Lewis Primary School. Working hours will be approximately 4 hours a day, usually between 9.30am and 1:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Cook in Charge with the daily preparation, cooking and serving of all meals. To include the awareness of pupils with allergens and the allergen procedure.
  • Assist with the operation of the kitchen in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures in relation to food safety and health and safety.
  • Assist the Cook in Charge with the accurate completion of all relevant paperwork to include the digital food safety management system.
  • To assist in maintaining cleanliness and high standards of hygiene in all areas.
  • To assist with the control and ordering of stock and cleaning supplies, in accordance with policy and procedures.
  • To cover for the Cook in Charge in the event of sickness or absence.

The successful candidate will

Have experience of cooking for large volumes of customers. Demonstrate good communication skills, and a positive “action focused” attitude. Will be enthusiastic with a logical and organised approach to planning, and the ability to function effectively under pressure. Foster a positive safety culture, and customer focused environment.
