Work Pattern: 3PM – 5PM (10 per week )
PAYE Pay Rate: £13.45 per hour
Main Purpose of the Role
To maintain a clean, safe and hygienic school environment by carrying out daily cleaning duties across classrooms, toilets, corridors, offices, staff rooms, halls and communal areas.
Typical Day Overview
- Clean and sanitise allocated areas of the school.
- Clean toilets, sinks, cubicles, floors, soap dispensers and hand dryers.
- Vacuum/sweep and mop floors across classrooms, corridors and communal areas.
- Clean desks, shelves, skirting boards, window cills and other hard surfaces.
- Clean and sanitise changing rooms and shower areas.
- Clean staff rooms, including sinks, work surfaces and floors.
- Empty waste bins throughout the school.
- Use cleaning equipment, including scrubber-dryer machines where required.
- Follow school cleaning, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
- Maintain a consistently high standard of cleanliness within the allocated area.
Key Skills & Responsibilities
- Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean environments.
- Ability to follow cleaning schedules and instructions.
- Experience with general cleaning and sanitisation is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and manage an allocated area.
- Good understanding of hygiene and safe cleaning practices.
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and products.
- Reliable, punctual and organised.
- Able to undertake physical cleaning duties.
- Professional and respectful approach when working within a school environment.
- Follow all relevant Health & Safety and COSHH procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Previous cleaning experience is desirable but not essential.
- Good standard of cleanliness and attention to detail.
- Ability to carry out physical cleaning duties.
- Ability to follow instructions and cleaning procedures.
- Reliable and able to work as part of a team or independently.
- Willingness to complete required training.
- DBS REQUIRED
Training: Full relevant training will be provided.
