The administration of the Council's accounts is essential to ensuring that public and staff services continue to run smoothly. Our Finance Service plays a critical role in supporting the Council's priorities, delivering high-quality, robust financial management across the organisation. Within the service, you will find a broad range of financial activities from financial planning and management accounting to financial reporting, data analysis, and the preparation of statutory accounts.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-focused Graduate Officer to join our Finance Service. You will have a keen eye for accuracy, strong numerical skills, and the ability to produce high-quality work. This is a busy role where you will be expected to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively under pressure. You will be highly organised, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and be eager to develop your skills within a large public-sector finance team. Excellent communication skills are essential, as you will be working closely with colleagues across the service and wider Council.

Essential Criteria:
  • A minimum 2:1 degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, Management Accounting, Economics, or a closely related discipline.
