Job type: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm - no weekends

Salary: up to £41,600 per annum depending on experience

Job Purpose

To carry out maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on company fleet of vans, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine servicing, inspections, and maintenance on vans and light commercial vehicles
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
  • Carry out repairs including engines, brakes, transmissions, suspension, and exhaust systems
  • Conduct MOT preparation and ensure vehicles meet road safety standards
  • Complete job cards, service records, and documentation accurately
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
  • Follow health & safety procedures and company policies at all times
  • Communicate effectively with workshop supervisors and parts departments

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a vehicle or van mechanic (light commercial vehicles preferred)
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using modern diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
