Job Purpose
To carry out maintenance, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on company fleet of vans, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine servicing, inspections, and maintenance on vans and light commercial vehicles
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using diagnostic equipment
- Carry out repairs including engines, brakes, transmissions, suspension, and exhaust systems
- Conduct MOT preparation and ensure vehicles meet road safety standards
- Complete job cards, service records, and documentation accurately
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
- Follow health & safety procedures and company policies at all times
- Communicate effectively with workshop supervisors and parts departments
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a vehicle or van mechanic (light commercial vehicles preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Experience using modern diagnostic tools and equipment
- Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
