Rhode Island Coffee is an award-winning, independent chain of 8 coffee shops in the North West. We are passionate about great coffee, outstanding customer service and creating welcoming, cosy spaces at the heart of the communities we serve.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and driven Operations Manager to play a key role in the next chapter of our story.
About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site and hands-on position based in the North West, United Kingdom. The role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail or hospitality environment and is passionate about operational excellence, people development and commercial performance.
You will oversee day-to-day operations and be responsible for ensuring our stores operate efficiently, profitably and in line with company standards, working closely with store managers to provide leadership, coaching and strategic direction while maintaining a strong focus on sales performance, customer experience and compliance.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Maximising sales and ensuring sound financial management across all stores
- Reviewing sales lines, removing unprofitable products and introducing new opportunities
- Setting and monitoring sales and labour targets using key performance metrics
- Coaching, developing and supporting store managers to deliver consistently high standards
- Overseeing stock control processes and reporting
- Ensuring full compliance with health and safety requirements
- Managing and supporting new store openings
- Ensuring all stores comply with company policies and operational guidelines
- Working closely with Senior Leadership team and Head of Coffee
What We’re Looking For:
- Operational or senior management experience in a fast-paced retail environment (hospitality / QSR experience preferred)
- Management skills with the ability to motivate and mentor teams
- Excellent project management, problem-solving and organisational abilities
- Financial and business acumen
- Confidence in data analysis, performance metrics and reporting tools
- A strategic, proactive management style
- Excellent customer service and quality standards focus
- Strong IT & techstack skills, including Microsoft Office and EPOS systems
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- Resilience and adaptability to maintain high standards and meet the needs of a dynamic and evolving business
