Location: Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

Work Schedule: 5 days in-office (ad-hoc flexibility aligned to business needs)

Type: PAYE Contract Inside IR35

Rate: £37-40.46 PH PAYE (Pension, Holiday)

Duration: 24 Months

The successful applicant will join a team supporting new product component introductions. You'll deliver complex design solutions across global manufacturing, suppliers and internal stakeholders.

The Role

  • Design/package components: aluminium & cast iron castings, gear-train, valve-train, drive-train, in-cylinder parts
  • Input to breather, cooling, FEAD and lubrication system development
  • Lead FMEA/risk assessment, design reviews and validation needs definition
  • Produce drawings/technical data to internal standards for prototype and volume release
  • Manage deliverable milestones, and collaborate with suppliers using Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools

Essential Experience

  • CREO10 expert; 6+ years CAD design experience
  • Strong engine or mechanical systems knowledge (incl. bolted joints, sealing)
  • Good understanding of casting, machining and manufacturing assembly principles
  • Strong communication, teamwork and self-management
  • HNC or technical degree preferred (mechanical/automotive) or equivalent experience

Not essential but beneficial to have:

  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Tools experience
  • Validation & verification
  • Diesel, alternative fuels which are spark ignited
