RHL Recruitment is working with a leading oil and gas EPC contractor, seeking two experienced Senior Marine Designers to join a high-profile offshore project on an initial 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within a dynamic Marine Team, supporting the delivery of complex offshore design scopes while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across global offices.
The Role
- Support and lead within the Marine Team
- Liaise closely with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors
- Coordinate with global project teams to deliver work within agreed timelines and budgets
- Provide technical guidance and mentor Junior designers
- Manage and oversee remote design teams
- Develop project-specific job notes, guides, and training materials to ensure consistent deliverables
- Organise team schedules and allocate resources to meet project milestones
- Break down project scopes to drawing level and estimate resource requirements
- Work effectively in a hybrid office-based environment
Requirements
- Marine & Structural Designer with formal qualification and/or significant on-the-job training
- Minimum 10 years' experience in marine design
- Strong proficiency in Aveva Marine
- Demonstrable leadership experience managing remote teams
- Ability to prioritise workload and respond effectively to urgent issues
- Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Comfortable working both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Willing and able to work 3 days per week in the Surrey office
Contract Details
- Rate: £52 per hour
- IR35 Status: Outside IR35
- Duration: 6 months (initial)
- Location: Surrey (Hybrid working model)
