Logistics Coordinator - Driver Distribution (Shift-Based)

Location: Hull

Shift Pattern: 4 Days on / 4 Off - 12-hour Shifts (Days & Nights)

Pay Rate: Β£16.62/hour PAYE - Inside IR35

Start: ASAP | Contract: 3-6 Months (with strong potential for extension)

Are you experienced in coordinating logistics and driver operations in a fast-paced, round-the-clock environment? RHL Recruitment is working with a major logistics provider in Hull to find a Logistics Coordinator (Driver Distribution) to join their 24/7 operations team on a 3-6 month contract - with excellent potential to go longer term.

About the Role

As the on-shift Coordinator, you'll act as the central contact and supervisor for a fleet of 55 HGV drivers operating across the UK and EU. Working closely with internal teams and clients, you'll ensure driver routes, schedules, and compliance are tightly managed and operations run safely and efficiently - day and night. This role is fully site-based in Hull, supporting critical distribution activities within bulk liquids and potentially hazardous cargo, although experience in this specific sector is not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day HGV driver activities across UK & EU routes
  • Act as shift supervisor, ensuring compliance, safety, and performance targets are met
  • Monitor schedules, resolve issues, and ensure timely deliveries
  • Liaise with internal teams, depots, and customers as the first point of contact during shift
  • Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Office tools
  • Assist in minor vehicle movements on-site if required (ADR/DQC preferred, but not essential)

What You'll Need

  • Proven experience in a logistics coordination or driver management role - preferably in 24/7 or shift-based operations
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with fluency in English
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • ADR Licence and Driver CPC - preferred, but not essential
  • Confidence managing real-time operational issues and providing leadership during shifts

Shift Pattern & Pay

4 on, 4 off rotating shifts (Days: 6am-6pm | Nights: 6pm-6am)

Β£16.62/hour PAYE

Potential overtime available

Inside IR35 - Fully onsite in Hull
