Are you an experienced Construction Supervisor with fuel storage/Oil and Gas/Petrochem site background? Our client, with 4 strategically located terminals in the UK, is now seeking a talented individual to join their team at their site in Essex. Negotiable salary plus annual bonus, private health care, full support with professional development.

You will play a key role in:

  • Audits, management of contractors on site, method statements, risk assessments, hazop meetings.

Key aspects to the role:

  • Ensure that contractors comply with all aspects of site safety rules, permit to work conditions and project scope of works.
  • Ensure that construction works are designed and built as described in the Scope of Work, Project Execution Plan and Contract.
  • Ensure that contractors adhere to the latest Approved For Construction (AFC) project drawings, specifications, procedures and site instructions.
  • Ensure all potential variations are flagged to the Navigator project manager and Contract variation procedure followed.
  • Participate in all relevant meetings, prepare progress reports and follow required checking procedures.
  • Promote and maintain Navigator and contractor best practice working relationships.
  • Ensure that suitable pre-commissioning and commissioning plans are in place at the appropriate stages during the project.
  • Ensure that pre/post commissioning "snagging" is carried out and that suitable procedures are in place to close out all "snagging items" prior to handover.
  • Ensure that handover certification is in place, including as-built drawings and handover pack, prior to final sign off for the project by the Navigator Project Manager.
  • Ensure that the development of Method Statements and Risk Assessments with suppliers, contractors and Navigator staff is completed in accordance with the appropriate Safe System of Work (SSOW).
  • Ensure that Safe Systems of Work permits issued are adhered to by suppliers and contractors in line with company procedures.
  • Ensure that site operations are fully involved in all aspects of the construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure, by leadership and guidance, that contracted works meets all practical, commercial, requirements of productivity, quality and contract target completions.
  • Audit contractors' progress to ensure work progress is to plan, budget and complies with the requirements of the RAMs.
  • Ensure compliance with the Construction Phase Plan where required under Construction Design Management regulations.

Experience required:

  • Degree or diploma in construction management, civil engineering or mechanical field.
  • NVQ level 3 or 4 in Construction Site Supervision.
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme.
  • Temporary Works Supervisor Training Course.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Experience in construction or supervisory role in process, chemical or petrochemical /COMAH sites.
  • Experience with CDM Regs, LOLER & Working at Height Regulations.
  • Multidisciplinary brownfield project experience on tank farm construction, road loading infrastructure, pipework and pipeline upgrades.
  • COSHH, Fire Awareness Training, LOLER, DSEAR, PUWER Risk Assessment, Working At Heights, CDM Regulations & Awareness, Manual Handling Awareness, Process Safety Management for Operations, HAZOP study for team leaders, IOSH, Asbestos Awareness, Auto Cad P&ID, Design & Operation of Piping systems, Electrical Safety, Engineering Qualification, Communication Skills, Site Main Controller.
