The Role

Rhino Recruitment is currently looking for an experienced CNC 5 Axis Miller / Setter Programmer with strong knowledge of Mazak Mazatrol control systems, on behalf of our client based in Stonehouse, Gloucester. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming CNC 5-axis milling machines to produce precision components to extremely tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set, operate, and run CNC machining processes on 5-axis machining centres
  • Carry out machine setups for all routed products
  • Work from approved engineering drawings, inspection plans, and shop documentation
  • Produce high-precision components to tolerances of ±0.010mm
  • Provide input on fixture, tooling, and program design
  • Train and support machine operators where required
  • Carry out self-inspection and quality audits to achieve self-certification
  • Accurately complete production and inspection documentation
  • Perform basic preventative machine maintenance in line with company procedures
  • Operate additional machinery when required

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience as a CNC Setter/Programmer within an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience with 3-axis and 5-axis machining centres
  • Proficient with Mazak Mazatrol controls, ideally including:
    • J500
    • J600
    • i800
    • 510
  • Recognised machining apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative
  • Positive and flexible approach to manufacturing methods and tooling
  • Excellent timekeeping and attendance record

Salary & Benefits

  • £24.00 per hour
  • Overtime paid at time and a half
  • 6:00am – 8:00am
  • 4:00pm – 6:00pm
  • 25 days annual leave, increasing to 30 days, plus bank holidays
  • Life assurance
  • Company pension starting at 9%
