Rhino Recruitment are hiring a qualified CNC Programmer, Setter, Operator for day shifts in Bristol for a leading precision engineering company.
Position Details
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus participation in a profit share scheme
- Annual Leave: 25 days holiday in addition to bank holidays
- Location: Fishponds Trading Estate, Bristol (BS5)
- Working Hours: 40 hours per week
- Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:30pm, Friday: 7:00am - 1:00pm

Responsibilities
- Program and machine components using Fusion 360 CAD/CAM, including optimisation of machining strategies
- Set up and operate 3-axis (VM20i) and 5-axis (VMX30Ui) Hurco CNC milling machines, ensuring accurate execution of programmes and compliance with technical specifications
- Machine aluminium, plastics, and customer free-issue parts to tight tolerances (typically within 0.2mm)
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure full compliance with design and customer requirements
- Manage tooling and machine set‑ups efficiently, including tool selection, offsets, and changeovers
- Monitor machining operations and make adjustments as required to maintain quality and production efficiency
- Perform routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to minimise downtime
- Carry out inspection and verification of components using measurement equipment, including Aberlink CMM
- Maintain high standards of safety, engineering hygiene, organisation, and housekeeping within the work area
- Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating reliability, accountability, and strong timekeeping
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to support production flow and continuous improvement
