The Role
- Manage a mixed caseload of contentious and non-contentious litigation and family law matters from instruction through to conclusion.
- Advise clients on a range of disputes, including contract issues, property disputes, tortious matters, contentious probate and personal injuries claims.
- Handle family law matters including divorce, financial remedy proceedings, and pre-nuptial and cohabitation agreements.
- Draft legal documentation including pleadings, witness statements, applications, settlement agreements, and orders.
- Represent clients at hearings where appropriate.
- Liaise with counsel, experts, and third parties.
- Negotiate settlements and support clients through mediation where required.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to business development.
- Manage correspondence and maintain accurate case records and work efficiently and most effectively.
About You
- A qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with experience in litigation and family law.
- An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills.
- Able to work independently while recognising when to seek guidance.
- Organised, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
- Can display flexibility to get involved with not so familiar caseloads.
- Experienced with legal case management systems and familiar with HMRC and HMCTS portals.
- A good character and displays exemplary temperament.
- Ambitious and industrious.
