Rhino Civils Ltd is looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our growing team for an immediate start on regulated water works in the highways sector. This role will be based on a project in Dursley and will suit a hands-on, organised, and proactive individual with a strong civil engineering background. The successful candidate must have proven experience managing site operations on infrastructure and utility related works, ideally within the water industry.
Applicants must have solid civil engineering experience and be confident overseeing works including large diameter pipe installation, roads, sewers, drainage, ducting, and FRC works. Experience on regulated water works and working within live highways environments would be highly advantageous. Rhino Civils Ltd is based in Ilkeston, with ongoing works across the Midlands, so this role would ideally suit someone based within the Midlands and willing to travel as required.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage day to day site operations and ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently
- Supervise direct labour, subcontractors, plant, deliveries, and materials on site
- Oversee regulated water works in highways, including large diameter pipe installation and associated civil engineering activities
- Maintain programme, quality, safety, and compliance standards across all site activities
- Carry out site briefings, inspections, and routine checks
- Liaise with clients, project teams, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth delivery
- Monitor progress and resolve site issues quickly and effectively
- Keep accurate records, reports, and site documentation
- Support successful project delivery from start through to completion
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering or infrastructure is essential
- Water industry experience is highly desirable
- Strong experience in highways, large diameter pipework, roads, sewers, drainage, ducting, and FRC works is essential
- Good understanding of regulated water works and working within live site environments
- Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills
- Good knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practice
- Relevant site qualifications and certifications would be advantageous
- Full UK driving licence required
