Our client is seeking a Structural Tower Design Engineer/Senior to join their team, delivering UK wide critical energy, power, water, telecoms and social infrastructure projects. On offer is a full‐time staff role, hybrid working and career progression.
The Role
You will lead approval activities on OHL Structural / tower engineering deliverables across our team. Overseeing the Transmission Tower structural assessment and design outputs, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget, whilst identifying improvements in team delivery, fostering staff development and maintaining close collaboration with the senior engineering team.
Our client is a leading provider of engineering and construction services to the UK transmission and distribution sector, delivering power engineering, construction and asset optimisation, supporting grid resilience and the transition to a low‐carbon energy system.
Duties (in brief)
- Lead approval activities on OHL tower engineering deliverables
- Support work acquisition and development
- Support safety by design assessments
- Integrate and support innovation – Create design deliverables
- Lead and develop staff within the team
- Ensure work is compliant with budget and program
- Stay updated on technical quality management procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering Overhead Steel Lattice towers and structures up to 400kV
- Experience with PLS Tower design software – Essential
- Experience presenting technical outputs
- Engineering degree (ISCED Level 6 or 7)
- Chartership/PE (Preferred but not essential)
- Awareness of Health and Safety in OHL construction
You
- Fluent English and ability to work in dispersed teams
- Right to work in the UK
- Be prepared for some travel
- Ideally living near Central Scotland or South of England, however our client has offices throughout the UK
