Job Description
Rhenus Logistics is a fast‑growing freight forwarder looking to invest in our sales team as part of our long‑term commercial strategy. We’re currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to focus on Air & Ocean freight sales. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the optimal functioning and profitability of the Sales Support department with the ultimate goal of increasing the profitability of the Air & Ocean organisation. The Sales Support Officer is responsible for adequate commercial and administrative management in accordance with the applicable processes and procedures. All this must be done in close collaboration with the Sales Team consisting of the Business Development Managers, Key Account Managers, Sales Executives and supervisors. Main Duties
- Carrying out the work, checking it and ensuring optimal cooperation with the Sales Team.
- Possibly with the Sales Team, compiling and issuing (in writing and by telephone) both ad‑hoc quotations and regular transport quotations to prospects as well as supplying data or coordinating and supporting Global RFQs.
- Follow up with the Sales Team on the quotes issued by calling these offers.
- Conducting a quotation registration (RHE‑Quote OTRS) so that all quotations can be viewed quickly and efficiently.
- Registering in Sugar and distributing all incoming sales leads and passes with the manager.
- Cross‑selling of different modalities (express‑air‑ocean).
- Providing support to customers in the roll‑out of Rhenus Tools.
- Generating and communicating routing orders, opportunities, sales leads and passes.
- Registering every outgoing and incoming routing order and sales lead in Sugar.
- Following up on assigned sales leads by making contact with the potential customer, issuing quotations and follow‑up by telephone.
- Making follow‑up visit appointments for the Sales Team if the telephone acquisition gives cause to do so.
- Having the creditworthiness of the potential customer assessed during the acquisition process.
- Processing the follow‑up report of the acquisition conversations in Sugar by the SSO or by the Sales Team.
- Actively participating in sales consultation and contributing points to improve and promote the success of the Sales Team.
- Advising management on necessary investments or efficiency improvements and cost‑saving measures.
- Periodic consultation with the manager about the policy pursued by providing relevant KPI reports.
- Monitoring the quality and quantity of the work.
- Following and analysing developments in the market to arrive at optimal knowledge of the market and translate this into consequences for the Sales Support activities.
- Checking the customer base in Sugar with all relevant information and agreements for potential customers.
- Carrying out commercial activities in accordance with the Code of Conduct.
- Conducting simple market research (request company information, competitors, etc.).
- Reporting dangerous situations for fellow human beings and the organization.
- Cooperating effectively with information and education regarding quality, safety, health and safety and the environment.
- Complying with laws and regulations that protect the security of information and data.
- Ensuring the clean desk policy applicable within Rhenus Air & Ocean.

Qualifications
