To support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards across the business.
The SHEQ Co‑Ordinator ensures compliance with legal and company requirements, promotes a positive safety culture, and drives initiatives that enhance operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct site audits, inspections, and risk assessments across depots and transport routes.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to drivers and operational staff.
- Maintain accident and incident records and report to relevant authorities as required.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of quality standards (e.g. ISO 9001, BRCGS).
- Control and maintain the company\’s Training matrix.
- Conduct internal audits and assist with external audits and accreditations.
- Monitor and report on KPIs related to SHEQ performance.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management.
- Monthly meetings with the UK Head of Compliance.
- Travel to other Rhenus UK Facilities will be required.
- Maintain documentation and records to be always audit ready.
What You Bring
Skills & Experience Required
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent (preferred)
- Experience in a transport, logistics, or fleet environment (preferred)
- Knowledge of UK SHEQ legislation and standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to influence and engage staff at all levels
- Able to work independently or as part of a Team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office systems
