- About Rheinmetall
One of Europe's most modern production facilities is currently being set up in Telford – the \"UK Gun Hall\" project.
Rheinmetall Weapon Munitions UK Limited (RWM UK) – a wholly owned subsidiary of the Rheinmetall Group and part of the Weapon and Ammunition Division – is Rheinmetall's centre of excellence for the production and maintenance of large calibre weapon systems in the United Kingdom.
What You Will Do
- Build and assemble tooling from engineering drawings, setup sheets and BOMs.
- Preset tooling using Zoller pre-setters and verify tool length, diameter and offsets.
- Inspect tooling for wear, damage and runout using precision measuring equipment.
- Maintain standard tooling assemblies and tool identification systems.
- Manage tooling inventory in KARDEX-Shuttles, ordering, goods receipt and stock accuracy.
- Maintain tooling records in SAP/Exapt and update tooling databases.
- Modify tooling by grinding, milling or minor fitting where required.
- Support CNC operators during machine setup and first-off production.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues and recommend improvements to increase tool life and productivity.
- Work closely with Work preparation, Maintenance and Production to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards
- Comply with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.
- What Qualifications You Should Have
- Experience as a CNC-Operator and knowledge of working on CNC-machines (turning / milling technology), as a tool mechanic or similar
- Professional experience in assembling and measuring tools (preferably Zoller)
- Ability to read and understand specifications, technical drawings, work instructions and test procedures.
- Enjoy working with various IT systems (Expat, Zoller, SAP) and have knowledge of standard office applications
- Knowledge of cutting tool geometry, feeds and speeds.
- Willingness to work in a multi-shift-pattern
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, as part of a Team, or individually
- Motivated and disciplined with an excellent work ethic, technical aptitude, continuous improvement mind-set and can demonstrate attention to detail
- Motivated to set up a new production for large calibre weapons systems in the UK (Telford)
