Rheinmetall Weapon Munitions UK Ltd. (RWM UK) is part of Germany’s largest defense engineering company Rheinmetall AG based in Düsseldorf. We design, manufacture and support military large‑calibre weapon systems used by the British Army and international customers. RWM UK is launching a new production site in Telford and the role will support tool assembly for large‑calibre weapon systems, including storage, management, adjustments and ordering of tools. Manufacturing takes place on large CNC machines such as lathes, deep‑hole drilling machines, honing machines and autofrettage machines.
Position Responsibilities
- Picking and assembly of cutting tools according to parts lists and drawings in a multi‑shift operation
- Technical assessment of wear, damage and other deviations in a tool
- Support and work closely with maintenance to fix equipment issues
- Determine and document relevant tool data using Zoller tool setters and conventional measuring equipment
- Withdraw and access entries in Expt PDM (production data management)
- Adapt tools as required by grinding, milling, etc.
- Monitor order stocks, report requirements, goods receipt inspection, and perform regular stock inventories
Qualifications
- Experience as a CNC‑operator and knowledge of turning/milling technology, or as a tool mechanic or similar
- Professional experience in assembling and measuring tools
- Ability to read and understand specifications, technical drawings, work instructions and test procedures
- Experience with IT systems such as Expat, Zoller, SAP, and standard office applications
- Willingness to work in a multi‑shift pattern
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
- Motivated and disciplined with an excellent work ethic, technical aptitude, continuous improvement mindset and attention to detail
- Motivated to help set up a new production for large calibre weapons systems in the UK (Telford)
