Rheinmetall Weapon Munitions UK (RWM UK) is part of the defence engineering company Rheinmetall AG based in Germany. We design, manufacture and support military large‑calibre weapon systems used by the British Army and international customers. RWM UK is now starting a new production site in Telford.
Lead Manufacturing Engineer will lead a specialist team in a high‑precision environment, responsible for CNC programming, tooling strategy, and manufacturing data systems, working closely with Production and Engineering to ensure a smooth and efficient start of the production.
Responsibilities- Responsible for CNC programs, tools and data management for the production of large‑calibre weapon systems
- Manage all aspects of people management
- Adaptation of CNC programmes and, if necessary, creation of new ones
- Setting up systems (e.g. TopSolid and Exapt) and maintenance of master data information
- Definition and procurement of required tools, clamping, auxiliary and measuring equipment
- Support the Production Manager in achieving production KPI’s (e.g. Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery & People) targets and actively participate with continuous improvement activities (e.g. production efficiency, OEE, operating cost reduction, safety, PPS & 5S)
- Support the production and acceptance of new machines and systems
- Completed studies in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Significant leadership experience in the manufacturing processes of turning, milling in shift operation
- Significant experience in CNC programming and tool‑data‑management (e.g. TopSolid, Teamcenter, Exapt)
- Be able to read and interpret technical drawings to understand specifications, tolerances and required materials to carry out the task.
