We are seeking an experienced SHE Specialist to play a key role in establishing and embedding Health, Safety & Environmental standards across our new operation. This is a unique opportunity to shape the safety culture from the ground and make a real impact on the success of the new manufacturing site. As SHE Specialist you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining robust health, safety and environmental systems.
What you will be doing:
- Identification and design of the RWM UK SHE-standards and processes for the UK Gun Hall in collaboration with Rheinmetall Defence UK
- Liaising with management, supervisors and safety representatives in the establishment and administration of health, safety and environmental control systems and associated training and communication requirements
- Actively research appropriate information sources to determine any proposed changes in legislation and develop, implement and monitor systems/procedures to meet the company’s obligations with regard to these changes
- Providing advice to all levels of internal stakeholders and safety representatives on occupational health, safety and environmental issues
- Support the delivery of the risk management programme
- Completion of suitable & sufficient general Risk Assessments and development of SSOW
- Promoting and managing environmental and sustainable initiatives
- Carrying out or making arrangements for environmental monitoring where identified
What qualifications you should have:
- Thorough knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental legislation
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent level 6 qualification / NEBOSH NGC as a minimum
- Formally trained SHE Auditor
- Previous SHE experience within both office and manufacturing environments
- Experience of implementing SHE management systems compliant with ISO:45001 and ISO:14001 certifications would be beneficial
