Rheinmetall Defence UK (RDUK) is recruiting for a skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team, where you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing each month. In this role, the successful candidate will report directly to the RDUK HR Director and will be the lead for all RDUK payroll matters and processes, whilst providing additional support to the RBSL Payroll Manager and HR Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong payroll experience who wants to add value to a payroll function. It is ideal for an individual who values flexibility, with the option of hybrid working and the willingness to travel regularly to the RBSL headquarter office in Telford and the RDUK office in Bristol.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide payroll support to ensure accurate and timely processing of monthly payrolls for employees.
- Manage payroll data and resolve discrepancies.
- Process new starters and leavers data in line with company policies and legal regulations.
- Respond to payroll queries from employees and external stakeholders.
- Administration of all statutory deductions including SMP, SPP, SSP, PAYE, and NI.
- Collaborate with internal departments and support HR/Payroll-related projects.
- Process payroll data regarding sickness, absences and holiday entitlement.
- Liaise with external agencies as appropriate (HMRC, AOE requests).
- Administration of the Pension and auto/contractual enrolment obligations.
- Work closely with the Finance team with ad hoc requirements and requests for information and reports.
- Offer employees guidance in relation to all payroll matters.
- Develop and maintain long‑term relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers.
What Qualifications You Should Have
- Have a qualification in payroll management (CIPP) or equivalent.
- Familiarity with payroll trends and good practice.
- Knowledge of PAYE legislation and HMRC requirements.
- Experience of working within an outsourced payroll model.
- Excellent understanding of data protection and GDPR regulations.
- Knowledge of statistics and data collection/analysis techniques and principles.
- Experience in running reports and checking for variances in payroll.
