Rheinmetall Electronics UK (REUK) is entrusted with the training delivery aspect of the contract meaning that you will be at the front and centre of British Army training. Every person in our team plays a critical role in delivering OMNIA Training’s vision; designing, delivering, and transforming collective training so the British Army is ready to fight and win.
This is a new role created to support Rheinmetall Electronics UK (REUK)’s growth within the Simulation and Training domain, specifically within the Land Training environment. As Facilities Engineer, you will support the Facilities Lead in managing and improving the use of Defence Training Estates to enable effective military training. Your role will involve assisting with the planning, coordination, and day-to-day delivery of infrastructure-related tasks, ensuring training environments are safe, accessible, and fit for purpose.
Working closely with a range of internal and external stakeholders, you will help maintain a catalogue of training sites and their capabilities, to expedite exercise planning. You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to arrange access to training sites, facilitating the setup, execution, and teardown of exercises and activities. In addition, you will monitor and review how training estates are being used, analysing utilisation data to inform recommendations for improved efficiency, better resource allocation, and future expansion.
This role requires strong organisational and communication skills, as well as the ability to balance operational needs with long-term strategic planning. Your contributions will be critical in ensuring operational readiness, enabling data-driven decision-making, and delivering secure, scalable, and integrated simulation training systems.
Applicants must be willing to work within the Defence sector and undertake Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) and Security Clearance (SC) checks, if not already held.
Required, necessary for the role:
- Proven organisational and project coordination skills, with experience managing multiple concurrent activities in complex environments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities, capable of liaising confidently with government personnel, contractors, and internal teams.
- Competent in analysing data and generating clear, concise reports to inform decision-making.
- Solid understanding of facility and infrastructure management principles, including health and safety and compliance standards.
- Proficient in MS Office suite and comfortable using databases or asset management tools.
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively, demonstrate initiative, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Desired, would be helpful for the role:
- Experience working within Defence or similarly regulated environments, ideally supporting training estates or operational facilities.
- Familiarity with Defence estate management processes and organisations such as DIO and OTIC.
- Knowledge of temporary and modular structures, including their setup and maintenance in training contexts.
- Basic project management skills or certification (e.g., PRINCE2 Foundation).
- Understanding of environmental and safety legislation relevant to estate operations.
