Rheinmetall Weapons and Ammunition UK (RWM UK) is part of the defence engineering company Rheinmetall AG based in Germany. Rheinmetall is establishing a new production site for large calibre barrels in Telford - and you have the opportunity to join the company at this really exciting time of growth and be involved in setting up the new plant from the very beginning.

We are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector (Incoming Goods) who enjoys working hands-on with components, measurements, and technical documentation.

What you will be doing:

  • Performing quality assurance on incoming goods for components and assemblies
  • Initial sample inspection and series inspection of incoming goods based on defined test plans
  • Evaluation of material certificates, test certificates and material characteristics with regard to normative and specification-related requirements
  • Carrying out and documenting tests using suitable measuring and testing equipment (2D and 3D measurements)
  • Application of non-destructive and destructive test methods in accordance with specifications and test plans
  • Recording, evaluating and documenting test results in SAP, as well as creating and processing Q reports
  • Carrying out external inspections of weapon and ammunition components at suppliers in the UK and abroad

What qualifications you should have:

  • Completed vocational training in engineering, quality or equivalent
  • Confident knowledge of reading and interpreting technical drawings, in particular form and position tolerances
  • Experience in handling measuring and testing equipment, including 2D and 3D measurement technology
  • Knowledge of quality assurance, ideally in goods receipt
  • Application experience in destructive and non-destructive testing methods is an advantage
  • Confident use of IT systems, in particular MS Excel, MS Word and SAP
