Ref.-Nr.: UK00942Schedule type: Full TimeContract Type: Permanent Full-TimeWHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORSenior Maintenance & Compliance OperativeWe're looking for an experienced Senior Maintenance & Compliance Operative to act as the lead maintenance resource on site, keeping our facilities safe, compliant, and running smoothly. You'll take ownership of planned and reactive maintenance, statutory compliance, and support for our ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems, while helping drive continuous improvement across the organisation.Key Responsibilities:Maintenance & FacilitiesDeliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across buildings, plant, equipment, and fixturesDiagnose faults and carry out timely corrective actionsMaintain building fabric (walls, flooring, doors, windows, fencing) and carry out basic plumbing, carpentry, and decoratingSupport refurbishments, workspace alterations, and equipment installation/relocationStatutory ComplianceSupport compliance across EICR, emergency lighting, fire alarms/extinguishers/doors, HVAC, water hygiene/Legionella, lifting equipment, pressure systems, and building safety systemsMonitor compliance schedules, certification, and inspection deadlinesAssist in closing actions from audits, inspections, and enforcement noticesHealth, Safety & Environment (ISO 45001 / ISO 14001)Support implementation of H&S and Environmental management systemsParticipate in workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessmentsReport and investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditionsSupport waste management, energy efficiency, and sustainability initiativesGrounds, Security & Contractor ManagementMaintain external areas: grass cutting, hedge trimming, pathway upkeep, winter preparationsEnsure car parks, walkways, and site boundaries are safe and operationalSupport contractor coordination, inductions, RAMS compliance, and performance monitoringConduct security inspections of buildings, access points, and perimeter measuresEmergency ResponseRespond to facilities emergencies (utility failures, flooding, fire alarms, security/environmental incidents)Participate in emergency drills and support business continuity arrangementsAdministrationMaintain asset registers, service records, and compliance documentationSupport reporting, KPIs, and management reviewsWHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVEEssential Skills & KnowledgeKnowledge of building maintenance and facilities management practices.Understanding of statutory compliance requirements within commercial facilities.Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.Understanding of risk assessments and permit-to-work systems.Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capability.Good organisational and communication skills.Ability to work independently and prioritise workload effectively.Competent IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.DesirableTrade qualification (Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Carpentry or Building Services).IOSH Working Safely or IOSH Managing Safely.IPAF Qualification.PASMA Qualification.First Aid at Work.Fire Warden qualification.Legionella Awareness Training.Asbestos Awareness Training.Experience supporting ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.Soft SkillsProblem Solving & Fault-FindingCommunicationOrganisation & PlanningAttention to DetailLeadership & AccountabilityTime Management & PrioritisationProactive ApproachRelationship BuildingCustomer Service FocusAdaptability & ResilienceSafety AwarenessContinuous Improvement MindsetPersonal AttributesStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a practical, hands-on approach.Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships at all levels.High attention to detail and commitment to quality, compliance and accuracy.Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and use initiative.Professional, reliable and accountable, with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility.Resilient and adaptable, with the ability to respond effectively to changing business needs and emergency situations.Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high standards of service.Strong commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and continuous improvement.WHAT WE OFFER YOUWe want REUK to be the employer you chose to build your career with.
