About the Company

Rheinmetall Weapon Munitions UK Ltd. (RWM UK) is part of Germany's largest defence engineering company Rheinmetall AG based in Düsseldorf. We design, manufacture and support military large‑calibre weapon systems used by the British Army and international customers. RWM UK is now starting a new production site in Telford.

Job Overview

The job holder is responsible for the tool assembly for the large‑calibre weapon systems. In addition to assembly, this includes storage, management, adjustments and ordering of tools. Manufacturing takes place on large CNC machines, e.g. lathes, deep‑hole drilling machines, honing machines, autofrettage machines, etc., in a 3‑shift operation.

Position Responsibilities

  • Picking and assembly of cutting tools according to parts lists and drawings in multi‑shift operation
  • Technical assessment of wear, damage and other deviations in a tool
  • Support and work closely with maintenance to fix issues with equipment
  • Determination and documentation of relevant tool data using Zoller tool setters and conventional measuring equipment
  • Withdrawal and access entries in Exapt PDM (production data management)
  • Adapt tools as required by grinding, milling, etc.
  • Monitoring of order stocks, reporting of requirements, goods receipt inspection, regular stock inventories
  • Constructive cooperation with work preparation

Qualifications

  • Experience as a CNC‑Operator and knowledge of working on CNC‑machines (turning / milling technology), as a tool mechanic or similar
  • Professional experience in assembling and measuring tools
  • Ability to read and understand specifications, technical drawings, work instructions and test procedures
  • Enjoy working with various IT systems (Expat, Zoller, SAP) and have knowledge of standard office applications
  • Willingness to work in a multi‑shift‑pattern
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, as part of a team, or individually
  • Motivated and disciplined with an excellent work ethic, technical aptitude, continuous improvement mind‑set and can demonstrate attention to detail
  • Motivated to set up a new production for large calibre weapons systems in the UK (Telford)
