We are passionate about local produce, warm welcomes and genuine connections. As a Team Member in our Cafe, you will be at the heart of our customer experience. Your responsibilities will include greeting customers with a smile, sharing your passion for our locally sourced products, and helping your colleagues wherever needed. You will serve customers on the hotplate, make delicious wraps, serve artisan coffees, run the tills, and keep cakes and snack tables full while ensuring dining tables are clean and clear. You will love to be busy and enjoy keeping our visitors happy as they take a break at our beautiful services.
You should have a positive 'can do' mindset, a passion for delivering great customer service, and a willingness to learn about our products. Previous experience in a catering environment is beneficial, but we offer full training to get you up to speed and provide knowledge of all our products and how we work at the Westmorland Family.
At Westmorland, we are a family business that started in 1972 from our farm in Cumbria, running unique motorway service areas – Tebay, Gloucester and Cairn Lodge – based on our own Farmshops and Kitchens. We also have Junction 38, a service dedicated to HGV drivers, Rheged, a meeting place, Cafe, Gallery and Cinema, and the Westmorland Hotel situated on the edge of the Lake District. We are proud to be connected to our place and that our family of colleagues share our values of Warmth, Graft and Courage.
If you join our family, it will be hard work at times, but we offer a great range of benefits including generous discounts in our farmshops and kitchens, free meals when working on shift, generous holiday entitlements, plus a paid day off for your birthday and more. If you work at our Tebay or Gloucester sites, we are able to offer free or discounted travel to help you get to and from work (restrictions may apply).
