Are you someone that puts 100% into providing brilliant customer service and making a difference in their role? We are looking for a Medical Receptionist to effectively interact with patients, referrers, funders and the public in a prompt and professional manner. Ideally, you will have had previous Medical Reception, or customer service experience in a scheduling environment, or similar front‑line customer contact role. This is a great work‑life balance role being part time (25.5 hrs a week) working Tuesday & Wednesday at Riccarton, and Thursday & Friday at the After Hours Centre.

What we are looking for:
We are looking for someone with previous customer service experience in a medical reception, office administration, or similar front‑line customer contact role. We are after someone who is the right fit for our culture and professional practice standards and can use their initiative in handling a range of situations. Ideally you will have strong communication skills with the ability to build empathy and rapport with patients and referrers quickly.
In the role you would:
- Welcome patients and callers while determining and fulfilling their needs including arranging bookings and providing appointment information
- Coordinate the booking of any imaging appointments or lists as required
- Ensuring reception and patient waiting area is properly maintained and the area is always clean and tidy
- Checking patients details and accurately inputting information into company systems
- Ensuring patients are aware of cost of examination and processing payments
- Liaising with clinical staff to ensure appointments run to schedule
- Facilitating any further action required to complete the patient’s visit
Skills and experience:
- Professional Experience: 2+ years in a professional administrator role and/or customer service
- Tech‑Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office and quick to learn new computer systems
- Organisational Skills: Exceptional organisational and time‑management abilities.
- Customer Service Excellence: Deliver outstanding customer service with exemplary interpersonal skills.
