We are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6 Community Mental Health Nurse to support a children and young people’s mental health service based in SY2 6LG. This role is ideal for a clinician with strong experience in mental health assessment, risk management, and multidisciplinary working. The post involves screening referrals, completing urgent and routine assessments, attending MDT meetings, and supporting children and young people with mental health needs.

Main duties:

  • Screen referrals and identify whether cases are urgent, crisis, or routine
  • Take calls from professionals and parents/guardians regarding mental health concerns and risks
  • Complete face-to-face urgent and routine assessments
  • Attend daily MDT meetings to agree the most appropriate outcome/intervention
  • Work within the service operational framework and Thrive Model
  • Maintain high standards of clinical documentation
  • Provide supervision and mentorship to junior colleagues/students

Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse
  • Previous Band 6 experience preferred
  • Experience working with children and young people
  • Strong knowledge of mental health assessments and risk management
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Pay rate: £28.00 per hour (Monday to Friday – 09.00 am to 17.00 hours) Payment: PAYE only No umbrella company No limited company
