RHA Recruitment Solutions Ltd is keen to speak to skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineers to join an expanding business in Staffordshire. This role would suit individuals looking to move into a senior position, or those already working in a senior capacity and looking towards a management position.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the design, development, and optimisation of mechanical components and systems for power generation, energy storage, or power conversion equipment. You will play a key role in delivering innovative, reliable, and cost-effective mechanical solutions to meet the bespoke demands of a broad client base.
Working with an ambitious business, you will join a small team, offering mechanical design input on a range of bespoke products, working in development, project, and production engineering environments.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design and develop mechanical systems for power products including generators, battery enclosures, inverters, switchgear, and cooling systems.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and BOMs using software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Autodesk Inventor.
- Perform engineering calculations, stress analysis, and thermal analysis to validate designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and quality to ensure design feasibility and alignment.
- Support prototype builds, testing, and design validation processes.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety codes, and regulatory requirements (e.g., UL, CE, IEC).
- Participate in DFMEA, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage engineering change processes and documentation control.
- Evaluate and select materials and components based on performance, cost, and availability.
- Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure component manufacturability and quality.
