We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Workshop Manager to lead a busy fleet workshop in Lambeth. This is an off-the-tools managerial role overseeing a skilled team of 9, including 3 supervisors, technicians, and an apprentice. The workshop is well-equipped with 3 service bays with lifts, a smaller bay, and a brake tester, servicing a fleet of RCVs, sweepers, cage vehicles, and gritters.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and supervise the workshop team, ensuring work is completed efficiently and to standard
- Hold team members accountable and maintain a strong presence in the workshop
- Monitor spend, overtime, and third-party costs
- Oversee limited compliance and contract management paperwork, risk assessments, and basic admin
- Ensure a safe, productive working environment with strong leadership and authority
- Support team development and performance, without being required to complete legal vehicle compliance or service schedules
Overtime: Time and a half; Sunday double time
