We are currently recruiting for an Assembly Operative to join a busy Modification Centre within a manufacturing environment.

This is a hands-on role involving the assembly and modification of standard products, with responsibility for completing a variety of production tasks accurately, safely and to agreed deadlines.

As an Assembly Operative, you will work closely with the Modification Centre Team Leader and colleagues across the operation, following engineering drawings and written instructions to ensure products are assembled and modified to the required specification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret basic engineering drawings.
  • Assemble and modify products in accordance with specifications and instructions.
  • Follow written work instructions and established processes.
  • Operate a milling machine.
  • Carry out deburring, filing and application of touch-up paint.
  • Operate a grinding machine.
  • Operate a stud welder.
  • Operate a wall saw.
  • Use a range of general tooling confidently and safely.
  • Provide technical support to customers by telephone and email.
  • Provide technical support to colleagues when required.
  • Maintain strict adherence to all health, safety and PPE requirements.
  • Complete a variety of tasks to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
  • Pack finished goods ready for dispatch.
  • Assist with the upkeep and maintenance of the milling machine.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards within the working environment.
  • Undertake other related duties as required.

You will be comfortable working in a practical assembly and machining environment and have the confidence to identify and challenge issues where appropriate.

Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to an assembly and machining environment and demonstrate a commitment to working in accordance with relevant product, machining, assembly, safety standards and regulations.
