Salary: Up to £51,500 (Option for alternate Saturdays 7am - 12pm)
Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established operation in Rothwell. Working as part of a large, skilled team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a varied fleet of commercial vehicles to a high standard. The company operates a fleet of over 2,000 vehicles across multiple depots, including tippers, tipper grabs, beavertails, and LCVs. You will be based in a well-equipped workshop featuring 5 pits, large open floor working areas with ramps and mobile column lifts, as well as a state-of-the-art brake test load simulator and brake roller system. The site currently employs 14 technicians and also offers an on-site gym.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on HGVs and LCVs
- Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and rectify efficiently
- Conduct inspections in line with DVSA standards
- Complete brake, engine, transmission, and electrical work
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
- Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records
- Work effectively as part of a team to minimise vehicle downtime
Requirements
- Proven experience as an HGV Technician
- Ideally a relevant qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent)
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- Experience working on a range of commercial vehicles
- A reliable and professional approach to work
