Location: Haywards Heath

Salary: Up to £21.15ph

Hours: 40 hours per week | Early shift – 6:00am to 2:30pm (some flexibility on start times)

Overtime: 1–2 hours available per day paid at x1.5

We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established workshop in Haywards Heath. This is a great opportunity to work within a modern, well-maintained facility as part of a small and supportive team. The workshop is a newer build (approximately 5 years old) and offers a bright, warm and well-organised working environment. You will be working on fleet vehicles which includes RCVs, sweepers, cage vehicles and gritters.

The Role

  • Carry out routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on municipal HGV vehicles.
  • Diagnose faults and complete mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Complete vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.
  • Ensure work is completed in line with DVSA standards and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.

You will be working alongside one Supervisor and two other Technicians within the workshop team. The workshop is modern, clean and well-equipped. Currently the site operates with a decelerometer machine, with a business case submitted for the installation of a brake tester.

  • Overtime available daily (typically 1–2 hours) paid at x1.5

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills
  • Experience working on HGVs or municipal fleet vehicles is beneficial
  • NVQ / Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance preferred
