An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bid Writer to join a well-established and award-winning construction and civil engineering contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality residential, commercial, education and infrastructure projects.
This role offers the chance to become part of a collaborative and supportive work-winning team, where you'll play a key role in developing compelling bid submissions that help secure major projects.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external consultants, you'll manage the bid process from the initial PQQ stage through to final tender submission, producing professional, client-focused documentation and presentations.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop winning bid strategies and plan responses to maximise tender success.
- Review PQQ and tender documentation, identifying key requirements and planning submission programmes.
- Research and gather information to support compelling, evidence-based bid responses.
- Lead assigned tender opportunities, coordinating kick-off meetings, managing deadlines, and overseeing the bid process.
- Write, edit and review bespoke PQQ, tender and proposal submissions, ensuring they are accurate, engaging and tailored to client requirements.
- Collaborate with operational teams and external consultants to produce high-quality technical, methodology and project-specific content.
- Prepare presentation materials and support client interviews where required.
- Maintain bid information within bid management systems and company databases.
- Monitor client feedback and contribute to the continuous improvement of bid processes, templates and documentation.
- Visit live project sites to gather information and develop case studies that strengthen future submissions.
- Provide additional support to the wider business development and work-winning team as required.

About You
The successful candidate will have proven experience delivering successful bids within the construction or civil engineering sector and possess excellent written communication skills with the ability to translate technical information into clear, persuasive submissions.
- You’ll also have
- A minimum of five years' experience producing high-quality PQQs, tenders and bid submissions within construction or civil engineering.
- A third-level qualification in construction, engineering or a related discipline (desirable).
- A proactive and highly organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
- Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, with experience creating professional presentations and client documentation.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience coordinating complex bid submissions from inception through to completion.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to perform under pressure while maintaining quality.
