We are working with a well-established and growing business seeking a talented Controls Engineer to join their engineering team. This role is conveniently located within easy commuting distance of Hull, Goole, Scunthorpe and Grimsby, making it an excellent opportunity for a skilled Controls Engineer across the region.

The Role

As a Controls Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining, improving, and supporting automated production systems. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and driving continuous improvement across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support automated production equipment including PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, and control panels.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system faults to minimise disruption.
  • Modify and enhance PLC and HMI programmes to improve performance and reliability.
  • Support commissioning of new machinery and control systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers and production teams to identify root causes of issues.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on electrical systems.
  • Assist with control system upgrades and automation projects.
  • Ensure compliance with UK electrical standards and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation including schematics and maintenance records.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues on site.
