Venatu Recruitment are seeking an experienced Claims Handler to join our client based in WF5. This is a key role in the business supporting clients through the end-to-end insurance claims process while delivering outstanding customer service in line with FCA and company guidelines.
This role involves managing a varied caseload across commercial and personal lines, acting as a key point of contact for customers, insurers and loss adjusters, and ensuring claims are handled efficiently, accurately and compliantly.
Key responsibilities of the Claims Handler:- Manage claims across commercial and personal lines (including household, motor, liability, personal injury and commercial risks)
- Handle first notification of loss through to settlement
- Validate claims against policy cover and liaise with insurers, loss adjusters and recovery agents
- Provide clear advice to clients on claims progress, mitigation and policy response
- Identify complex, high-value or suspicious claims and escalate appropriately
- Maintain accurate claim files and records using IT systems
- Deliver exceptional customer service and manage queries professionally
- Ensure all activity complies with FCA regulations and company procedures
- Support complaints handling and provide management information when required
- Previous experience in a Claims Handler role with a broker or insurer
- Knowledge of the end-to-end claims process
- Understanding of basic insurance policy cover
- High attention to detail with strong organisational skills
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients and insurers
- General insurance experience
- Experience using Open GI, Acturis or similar systems
