Job Description
SMT Operator – Electronics Manufacturing
We are currently seeking an assembler to produce products in accordance with defined build instructions for a variety of major OEMs in market sectors including Automotive, Clean Energy, Communication & Broadcasting, Consumer, Defence & Aerospace, Homeland Security, IP Development Platforms, Medical, Scientific Research & Space.
SMT Operator – Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble products to IPC-A-610 standards and build instructions
- Operate SMT line to produce populated PCB assemblies to required quality and timescales
- Prepare stencils and printing equipment
- Perform in-line inspection for quality and consistency
- Document any deviations from standard before starting work
- Ensure processes are robust, clear, and consistently followed
- Maintain high-quality standards and notify supervision of any issues affecting build times
SMT Operator – Skills & Experience:
- Experience operating Pick and Place SMT machines
- Pre-kitting for SMT machines
- Programming and operating stencil printers
- Proficiency in load placement programming and set value checks (Europlacer experience is a plus)
- Ability to create/adjust component package checks (Europlacer experience is a plus)
- Maintenance of SMT line equipment
- Operation and maintenance of TSM and Heller ovens
- Solder paste control
- Handling moisture-sensitive components
- IPC-A-610 certification
