A leading aerospace and defence manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Skilled Fine Limit Sheet Metal Worker to join its growing fabrication team. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled fabricator with experience in precision sheet metal work, hand forming, and working with exotic materials to join a well-established engineering business producing high-specification aerospace components.
The role will involve manufacturing complex fabricated parts to extremely tight tolerances using a variety of forming, assembly, and finishing techniques.
Key Responsibilities- Manufacture precision sheet metal components from engineering drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions
- Carry out bending, forming, cutting, pressing, riveting, assembly, deburring, stretching, and inspection operations
- Work to tight tolerances across a range of aerospace-grade materials including aluminium, stainless steel, titanium, and Inconel
- Set and operate fabrication machinery including fly press, brake press, and linishing equipment
- Hand form prototype panels and precision components from flat sheet material
- Perform drilling, trimming, grinding, filing, and finishing operations
- Ensure tooling and jigs are maintained and fit for purpose
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with engineering and quality standards
- Extensive experience within precision sheet metal fabrication
- Strong background in aerospace, defence, or high-specification manufacturing
- Experience with hand forming and fine limit sheet metal techniques
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working with exotic materials including Titanium and Inconel
- Skilled in fabrication, assembly, and integration of fabricated and machined components
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work to extremely tight tolerances
- A proactive and quality-focused approach
- £38,000 – £48,000 DOE
