We are currently recruiting for a Manual Miller / Machine Operator to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Hayes. This role would suit someone with previous experience operating workshop machinery within a manufacturing or engineering environment who is looking to further develop their machining skills within a busy machine shop.

The company is looking for someone with a good mechanical aptitude, strong work ethic and hands-on manufacturing experience who can be trained and developed within the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate manual workshop and drilling machinery
  • Assist with manual milling and machining operations
  • Work from engineering drawings and production instructions
  • Carry out basic inspection and quality checks
  • Support general machine shop and production activities
  • Maintain good housekeeping and workshop standards
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams
  • Follow health & safety procedures at all times
Skills & Experience Required
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing, engineering or machine shop environment
  • Experience operating machinery such as: Pillar drills, Vertical drilling machines, Manual workshop machinery
  • Good hands-on engineering or mechanical aptitude
  • Willingness to learn and develop machining skills
  • Reliable and proactive approach to work
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Basic understanding of engineering drawings would be beneficial
