We are currently recruiting for a skilled CNC Turner (Setter / Operator) to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Bedford. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term role within a busy, precision engineering environment.

Working within a dedicated machine cell, you will be responsible for the setting and operation of CNC lathes, producing high-quality components to tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set and operate CNC turning machines to manufacture precision components
  • Select and install appropriate tooling, offsets, and fixtures
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Conduct in-process and final inspection using measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers, verniers, gauges)
  • Identify and resolve machining issues to maintain production efficiency
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to meet output targets and deadlines
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner / CNC Lathe Setter Operator
  • Strong background in setting and operating CNC turning machines
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience using inspection and measurement tools
  • Solid understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials
  • Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
