The Business Development Lead will be responsible for driving revenue growth and enhancing client engagement across key practice areas, working closely with Heads of Department, specifically Property and Private Wealth.
The role is focused on identifying and securing new business opportunities, strengthening strategic relationships, and delivering a proactive and commercially driven BD approach.
As a self-starting and highly motivated individual, the post holder will leverage existing networks and expertise to generate immediate opportunities, while developing and implementing clear, targeted plans to support sustained departmental growth.
The role will also play a key part in shaping and delivering the firms wider business development strategy, with a strong emphasis on flexibility, innovation, and measurable impact.
Responsibilities:- Partner with Heads of Department to develop and deliver targeted BD plans aligned to growth objectives Identify and pursue new business opportunities across key sectors and client groups Generate new revenue streams through networks, referrals, and proactive outreach Lead client and referrer meetings, supporting fee earners through opportunity conversion and Analyse BD performance data to identify trends and growth opportunities Maintain accurate pipeline tracking and CRM data (Hub Spot) Research and recommend strategic events and networking opportunities Ensure strong ROI through effective follow-up and opportunity tracking Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and referrers Drive cross-selling and identify opportunities to deepen client engagement Support pitches, proposals, and BD materials Collaborate with Marketing on brand positioning, directories, and awards The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years successful business development experience in a law firm or similar professional services setting.
You will require excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
You will be proactive, self-motivated and comfortable working in a target-driven environment possessing strong negotiation and presentation skills.
