We are actively recruiting for a Construction Manager to oversee and deliver refurbishment projects across a portfolio of facilities management and MoD/defence contracts for a Tier 1 FM contractor operating across High Wycombe and the wider South East region.
As a Construction Manager you will be taking ownership of refurbishment projects from inception through to completion, managing M&E and fabric packages across live, operational and secure defence and commercial environments. You will be working closely with clients, subcontractors and internal delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Due to the nature of the contracts and environments, candidates will ideally hold current SC / DV Security Clearance or at minimum be willing to undertake DV Security Clearance.

- Status: Permanent, PAYE – Paid Monthly
- Base Salary: £75,000
- Car Allowance: £5,000

- Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00am – 5:00pm

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of refurbishment projects across MoD/defence and commercial FM sites, managing M&E and fabric works packages end to end.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal trades to ensure programme, quality and budget targets are met.
- Develop and maintain project programmes, monitoring progress and mitigating delays proactively.
- Ensure full CDM compliance across all projects, acting as Principal Contractor where required.
- Oversee site safety, ensuring all works are delivered in line with HSE legislation and the client's security and access requirements.
- Manage project financials including valuations, variations, cost reporting and final accounts.
- Liaise directly with MoD and FM client representatives, maintaining strong relationships and clear communication throughout project delivery.
- Produce and present regular progress reports, risk registers and project documentation for senior management and the client.
- Ensure all works meet the required quality standards, carrying out inspections and snagging throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support the pre-construction and estimating teams with programme input, site surveys and buildability reviews.
Requirements:
- Must hold a relevant construction or engineering qualification (HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent).
- Must hold SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
- Valid CSCS Black or Gold card.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate desirable.
- Must hold proven experience delivering refurbishment projects within a facilities management, MoD/defence or similar regulated environment.
- Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations and NEC/JCT contract frameworks.
- Experience managing M&E and fabric subcontract packages essential.
- Must be eligible for MoD Security Clearance (SC level and DV Level); existing clearance advantageous!
- Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
