Successful Transport Planning is both an art and a social, economic and engineering science, which relies upon clear professional appreciation and understanding of the facts and issues in the context of policy, design and community interest. This philosophy and the application of technical guidance with flair and innovation generates effective and valuable Transport Planning solutions.
We provide transport planning, highway design, flood risk and drainage input at all stages of the development process; from feasibility, through the planning application process and then to detailed design.
Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the technical excellence of the team. KEY TASKS/DUTIES
- Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, and supporting technical notes;
- Undertake and oversee transport modelling, forecasting, and data analysis using industry-standard tools;
- Interpret national, regional, and local transport policy and apply it effectively to development proposals;
- Lead stakeholder engagement, including liaison with local authorities, statutory bodies and design teams;
- Mentor and technically review the work of junior staff, providing guidance and professional development support;
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality assurance, and company procedures.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Education/ Experience:
- Minimum 4 years relevant Transport Planning experience.
- An accredited Degree in an applicable analytical subject β for example Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, Mathematics etc;
- An understanding/experience of the UK planning process;
- Further education or Master's degree in a transport planning/engineering related discipline would be beneficial, but not essential;
- Full UK driving licence is beneficial;
- Full UK permit to work or residency.
Technical Skills:
- Computer literate with advanced use of Microsoft Office;
- Good levels of numeracy, including a good understanding of spreadsheets;
- Understanding of the use of AutoCAD (desirable, but not essential);
- Understanding of GIS software;

- Sets and achieves high standard of work with a particular focus on details, accuracy and quality of own work;
- Meets the given brief with well-presented information, completed to agreed timescales;
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to clearly communicate findings from complex data;
